Community Hydrotherapy Unit


The Modha Swift Community Hydrotherapy Unit is the heart of the Centre. Situated on the ground floor, the Unit is self-contained with its own accessible entrance to enable us to, once again, offer hydrotherapy seven days a week to the communities of the City of Peterborough.

The Unit will be managed by our dedicated social purpose company and will prioritise community use. The Unit will offer a full programme of aquatic health and physiotherapy sessions and will be open to everyone.

Hydrotherapy Pool

The hydrotherapy pool is a stainless-steel single shell seven metres is length and four metres in width. It has two depths. These being 1.2 metres and 1.35 metres. The pool features include horizontal grab rails on all sides; massage bench with massage jets as well as 4 additional jets.

Pool users will be able to access the pool either by the steps with a double handrail or by hoist directly from the changing rooms.

The rehabilitation gymnasium which is situated opposite the pool has its own changing and waiting rooms. Gym users will be able to use a range of multi-function equipment as well as more traditional equipment including a treadmill and full corner steps.
Accessibility

The Unit has three changing rooms. Two for individuals and one for groups. The individual changing rooms have been designed in accordance with the changing places accessibility standards. They are both fitted with hoist systems.
